All Ages, Anxiety, Stress, Coping Skills, Mindfulness

Life is complex and can be overwhelming. I understand the challenges that come with day-to- day life and that seeking support can be difficult. I acknowledge and admire your strength in taking the first step to getting this support. Through a person-centred, empathetic approach, I hope to create a safe, non-judgemental space to work through the challenges you are facing.

I am an MACP student/candidate and Registered Practitioner (Qualifying). Before this journey, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Studies. I work with children and adolescents to work through various personal challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, and/or relational issues.

I practice through a solution-focused, person-centred lens, with integration of other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Each individual is complex and unique in their own way; therefore, I want to ensure your therapeutic process is personalized to you.

I believe that one of the most important aspects of the therapeutic process is the therapeutic relationship. I will work to ensure your comfort and the establishment and maintenance of mutual respect throughout our time together. I strive to help others, providing support in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Couples, Individuals 16+, ADHD, Attachment Challenges, Coping Skills, Childhood Abuse, Intimate Partner Abuse

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) and an Athabasca University graduate with a Master’s degree in Counselling. Over the past ten years, I have volunteered and worked with a wide range of diverse individuals, particularly those in marginalized populations of all ages. I have ample experience in working to understand each individual’s unique experiences in hopes of best supporting them to meet their goals.

Many of my clients come to me because they feel their mental health is getting in the way of daily life and relationships, and often just don’t feel like they are living the life they want. Together we will explore your past and present thoughts, feelings, and relationships to better understand your unique experience. I can be there to help you build strategies, or just to listen – therapy is your time, and you have control in every step of the process. I work mostly from a CBT perspective, while pulling techniques from a variety of modalities such as ACT, EFT, SFT, and attachment based. I work with clients with challenges such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, coping strategies, stress management and challenges in relationship.

A quote I always have in mind when I enter the therapy room is, “This too shall pass.” By considering this, we remember that no challenge or feeling is permanent despite what our minds might tell us. However, it also reminds us to cherish what we have because every day is precious. Going to therapy means you’re committing to work through those tough days, but also aspiring to live every day in alignment with your values.

It can be hard to find a therapist that fits you, but the search is worth it. Reach out today for a free consultation to see if we’re a good match.

All Ages, Trauma, Grief, Post-Partum Depression, Family System Techniques

Over the last 8 years, I have been helping children, youth, adults, and families navigate countless life challenges. I received my Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and my Bachelor of Arts in the Honors Program from Trent University. Before working as a therapist, I was in the social service field. Many of these years were spent living and working in a remote area, which has given me a diverse skillset to support clients to meet their personal goals.

Sometimes, a new perspective, a new strategy, or just a listening ear while you put the pieces together is just what you need. Be brave. Choose you. No matter what you are feeling, no matter what you are thinking, you do not have to go through it alone. I use a variety of modalities to meet each person’s individualistic needs. I work with a high degree of professionalism and prioritize a safe and welcoming space for you, because I value our therapeutic relationship.

A favourite quote of mine is from Abraham Lincoln: “I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.” I believe that taking the steps you are doing by reaching out for counselling, is moving forward and towards growth.

A little about me: I am mother, a wife, and a fur-mom. I love to walk in nature, run, and ski.

I would be privileged to meet you in person, talk on the phone, or meet over video. I have weekend and evening availability, with limited daytime availability.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist bringing 21 years of experience working with diverse populations including clients requiring crisis intervention and mental health support, intimate partner violence, and also have experience with first responder populations.

Clients often come to me to manage challenging life transitions, work through adult diagnosis of ADHD, manage anxiety and depression, for support in navigating parenting challenges, trauma intervention, or just to find extra support to deal with day-to-day stressors!

I provide holistic, client-centred, and real-world strategies for growth and change. I am guided by many theories, including Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (among others). It is very important to me that every approach is trauma-informed, meaning you can expect to find safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment in everything we do.

Whatever areas of focus you bring to therapy, my goal is to provide you with a warm, safe, and supportive environment where you can be (or find) your authentic self. You will have a safe and comfortable place to learn how to go from anxious, unhappy, overwhelmed – to confident, calm, and decisive. You can have a meaningful, productive and empowered life.

Do you find it difficult to explore your own narrative and live authentically? Is it hard to find your voice in situations?

Often the narrative we hold of ourselves is largely based on the experiences we have had in the world such as with strangers, friends, family, and life events. It can influence the choices we make in life, from picking what to wear in the morning to deciding where to live! While being supportive of others, sometimes the voice inside slowly starts to fade. Questions like “who am I ?” and “what do I want in life?” can be hard to answer.

As a psychotherapist, it would bring me joy to work with you as you go on the journey of self-discovery or, at times, re-discovery! Together we can explore the aspects of your life that have caused a strain in day-to-day functioning, whether it is the anxious thoughts that keep you up at night, mourning the loss of a loved one or finding purpose in your life.We can do this by breaking down concepts, themes and patterns in your life that have played an important role in developing the person you are today and the person you are aiming to become!

From my experience, when clients gain greater insight on how to re-shape their narrative, they learn to gain greater understanding and trust in themselves, and continue to utilize skills from sessions that help them build their confidence.

I use a wide range of therapeutic treatment approaches to address clients’ needs, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I work with adults and adolescents to address various topics including life transitions, trauma, burnout, time management, body positivity, immigration experience, relationships, identity, and family conflict.

Feel free to book a 15-minute consultation or skip straight to a full session and let the journey of self-discovery begin!

I received my Master’s of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. But that’s just the piece of paper that allowed me to do what I wanted for many years. I work as a Registered Psychotherapist with individual children, adolescents, and adults. My main area of focus is complex trauma which can include anxiety, depression, panic, chronic pain, among others. I approach all my work from a relationship-oriented lens.

The late Maya Angelou said, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” This is one of the driving forces I have when working as a therapist. I hope to help individuals move from their current state to live life with greater freedom and hopefully move towards living a full life. I do this by building a relationship with each client and helping them uncover their own potential.

I draw from different modalities depending on what is needed. Among other approaches, I apply Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interoceptive Exposure Therapy and Attachment Theory. Making the choice to take the step to reach out and ask for help can take great courage. I endeavour to respond to that courage with a genuine interest in meeting you wherever you are in your life and walk with you towards healing. I consider it my sincere privilege and honour to be trusted with details about your life. I am here to listen. I look forward to hearing from you.
