Individuals 16+, Anxiety, OCD, Stress, Interpersonal Conflict, Emotion Dysregulation, Perfectionism, Decision Making, And More!
Adversity is one thing that we can come to expect in an increasingly demanding and stressful world. When adversity overwhelms us, it can impact those parts of our lives that are most meaningful. Whether adversity presents as emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, grief, interpersonal conflict, addiction, anger or loss; the impact can be devastating, undermining our sense of self and confidence. These issues are at the core of my practice. Carl Rogers once stated “the curious paradox is, that when I accept myself just I am, I can change”. In a world of expectations and demands we can often lose a sense of who we are, and accepting ourselves can be elusive. For over 10 years, I have been providing psychotherapy as a registered social worker to adolescents and adults in hospital and private practice settings. Throughout my career, acceptance of ourselves has been core to my practice. My expertise in DBT, CBT, SFBT and mindfulness, can help individuals understand emotions more fully, and in turn support decision making and coping skills with wisdom and confidence. It is my philosophy that reconnecting with ourselves and accepting who we are, is key to resilience. Going through troubling times alone can be painful. To be understood is to be connected, and it is my hope that I can offer a safe space for you to be heard in your most challenging times. I seek to offer a space that is safe, encouraging and kind, in the hopes that you find meaning, confidence and joy through all that life offers.

Dark times may be present now, but they mustn’t always be. Let’s find you the tools to cope with the current darkness, and I’ll support you to make the changes necessary to live a better existence.

I received my Master’s of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. But that’s just the piece of paper that allowed me to do what I wanted for many years. I work as a Registered Psychotherapist with individual children, adolescents, and adults. My main area of focus is complex trauma which can include anxiety, depression, panic, chronic pain, among others. I approach all my work from a relationship-oriented lens.
The late Maya Angelou said, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” This is one of the driving forces I have when working as a therapist. I hope to help individuals move from their current state to live life with greater freedom and hopefully move towards living a full life. I do this by building a relationship with each client and helping them uncover their own potential.
I draw from different modalities depending on what is needed. Among other approaches, I apply Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interoceptive Exposure Therapy and Attachment Theory. Making the choice to take the step to reach out and ask for help can take great courage. I endeavour to respond to that courage with a genuine interest in meeting you wherever you are in your life and walk with you towards healing. I consider it my sincere privilege and honour to be trusted with details about your life. I am here to listen. I look forward to hearing from you.
